Hello, and welcome to the Maple Valley Centennial Lions Club, founded in February, 2017!
My name is Haley (Sears) Pendergraft and I am the current president of the club. I am what some may call a Maple Valley “lifer.” I was born and raised in Maple Valley, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to have the Lions Club back! Growing up in the Tahoma School District, I was first introduced to the Lions Club by way of attending the Lions Club dances in the fifth grade.
These dances were held in what we now know as the Maple Valley Food Bank & Emergency Services. Lions Club dances were a BIG thing for us. We would arrive with our hair doused in Aqua Net hairspray and our jeans tightly rolled at our ankles. We perfected the Running Man and the Roger Rabbit dance moves while keeping up with the beat of our favorite bands – but, more importantly, we made great memories.
Fast forward 25 years. The Lions Club is back and it turns out they do a lot more than host fifth grade dances! My husband and I are raising our children here in Maple Valley, where I also run my painting business. Our whole family is excited to serve this community together – along with all of you!
Here are the committees we have formed, let us know if you want to join!
Fundraising: Maple Valley Days Breakfast, Oktoberfest 2018, Running of the Balls 2019
Let us know if you would like to get involved in one of these committees!
How do we choose which projects need us the most?
